Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
If you fill out the contact form on our site we collect your name and email address and store that in our submissions database.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyse the usage of our website. For that purpose Google uses IP Anonymization (or IP masking) by setting the last octet of IPv4 user IP addresses and the last 80 bits of IPv6 addresses to zeros. We do not use Google Advertising in any way.
Who we share your data with
We share some information from you with third parties:
- Your IP-address with Akismet, to prevent spam in our comment boxes.
- Your anonymized IP-address with Google for the website analytics.
- An anonymized string created from your email address with Gravatar for your gravatar image, if you are using it.

Where we store your data
Your data is stored on the servers of our webhosting provider. These servers are located in the Netherlands and the webhosting provider has implemented strict GDPR rules.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We have implemented many security measurements, including secret entrance (login masking) to the administration area of this website, strong passwords enforcement and 2-steps verification.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Attempts to log in are logged and failed attempts are reported to the administrator of this website.
IP-addresses are added to blacklists after a predefined number of failed attempts to access the administration area of this website, and banned from visiting this website.
